George Washington Socks

These George Washington socks can remind us of the many "firsts" attributed to the first President of the United States.  He set the norm for no more than two terms for the Predident.  He rejected appeals to be King, srengthening the goal of governance by the people.  He rejected being addressed as "His Majesty," preferring the simpler, more democratic "Mr. President."

Washington's influence set the course for the newly-created nation, the United States of America.  He was the first President who had to steer a nation that was created on the idea of self government for its citizens as opposed to a nation ruled by an unquestioned royal authority.
